Floating Holidays: These are the holidays where the date is not fixed which means every year, there is a different date for them. Holidays which comes under this category are Martin Luthur King Jr day, Washington’s birthday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Thanksgiving Day.
Other Important Details
It is important to note that;
a holiday that falls on a Saturday is observed by a federal employee on the previous Friday who works on a Monday to Friday week. However, the employees who are working on Saturday as well will observe the holiday on Saturday only.
Also, the holidays which falls on Sunday are observed on the following Monday.
